| TimBox, a new Concept |
The standalone TimBox version is a tool allowing a domain expert to populate a task tree and to describe the tasks he includes in it on the fly. To do this, he relies on his own knowledge or on common user practice. He might as well use TimBox to design a new process or to specify a new device from the functional point of view.
When setting up his model, he does not need to consider what the documents that can be published from the content he produces will look like, be they user-manuals, on-line helps, functional specifications or other. He is therefore not bound to XML tag manipulation and able to concentrate fully on the content. When it comes to publishing, he can choose a layout using a particular stylesheet and generate on-line helps by using the CHM or HTML export or a ready-to-print user-manual by using the PDF export facility. He can also export the content into an XML file that will be further used as input for a more sophisticated publishing environment or a Flash screen presentation.
